Support 1812

In 1998, 1812 Productions produced its first show and was honored with a Philadelphia Magazine "Best of Philly: Theatre in Infancy" award. In 2010, 1812 was one of only ten companies in the nation to receive a National Theatre Company Grant from the American Theatre Wing (Founder of the Tony Awards), standing side by side with, "some of the most inspiring and innovative theatre companies in our national landscape" (Lucie Arnaz, Grants Committee Chair).  In 2018, The Wing returned to immortalize our annual political comedy This Is The Week That Is as the subject of a documentary for a series of films marking the best of American Theatre.  We've come a long way in just under 30 years! We've staged almost 100 productions (including more than 60 world premieres). We've hired hundreds of actors, designers, playwrights, directors, and administrators, and educated hundreds of Philadelphia public school children through our award-winning in-school program, 1812 Education. And all of these accomplishments—what we've done, who we are, and what we have yet to be—would not be realized without an amazing amount of support. As a non-profit company, less than half of our $1,000,000 annual budget comes from ticket sales. It is only through the support of our audience that we can continue to be Philadelphia's All-Comedy Theatre Company. Please take this opportunity to make a donation to 1812 Productions or consider becoming an ongoing supporter of 1812 by joining the Vaudevillian Society. Your tax-deductible gift will help secure 1812 Productions' ongoing mission as we continue to forge our way into the future of comedy.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Childs
Co-Founder & Producing Artistic Director
