Amputation Nation
February 22, 2002 - March 17, 2002

Written and performed by John Lumia
Directed by Joe Canuso

Written and performed by local theatre artist John Lumia, Amputation Nation is a cross between stand-up comedy and performance art. In it, Lumia portrays nine characters that morph from one to the next, including a rock star, a hard-edged music producer and a paranoid teenager. Each poses questions and offers a unique perspective about society’s obsession with image and its relationship with pop-culture.
